Christian Doppler Laboratory

The Christian Doppler Laboratory (CDL) for High Efficient Composite Processing was established in April 2013. The industrial partner of the CDL was FACC operations GmbH.

Funded by the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy and mentored by the Christian Doppler Research Association (CDG), the laboratory had a duration of  7 years. The CDL was terminated on 31 March 2020.

The aim of the project was to develop fundamental understanding of various process branches which make the manufacturing of typical aeronautic and high load-bearing structural components possible. A special focus was put on cost-efficient manufacturing. State of the art process chains were analysed and optimized and furthermore, new developments were planned. In order to select process steps clearly beyond the State-of-the-art, improved functionality is essential.
