The Department of Polymer Engineering and Science was also represented by a strong team from the Institute of Materials Science and Testing of Polymers. Christoph Waly, Lukas Haiden and Michael Huszar presented their latest research findings in a series of specialist lectures:
- Christoph Waly: Bridging Natural Principles and Material Science: Advances in Lithomimetic-Inspired Polymeric Multi-Material Composites
- Lukas Haiden: Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Composites: Enhanced Properties through Nanoparticle and Thin Film Integration
- Michael Huszar: Modulus measurements via nanoindentation – a guide for parameter settings for testing polymers
In addition, Florian Arbeiter was actively involved in organising the mini-symposium MS 1.6 ‘Mechanics of Polymers’. This symposium was organised jointly with Jean-Luc Bouvard (MINES Paris – Centre de Mise en Forme des Matériaux) and Julie Diani (CNRS – French National Centre for Scientific Research) and focused on the latest developments in the mechanical characterisation and modelling of polymer materials.
