From June 17 - 20, 2024, the European Symposium on Photopolymer Science (ESPS 2024) took place in Stresa (Italy). Under the lead organization of Prof. Marco Sangermano (Politecnico di Torino), this conference covered cutting-edge topics such as new initiators for radical and cationic photopolymerization, mechanistic aspects of photoreactions, 3D printing, bio-based monomers and sustainable photopolymers. Several working groups of the Institute of Chemistry of Polymeric Materials and the PCCL were represented at the ESPS with lectures and posters, which demonstrates the presence of the Leoben community in the field of photopolymerization and 3D printing.
Following the ESPS, the midterm meeting for the EU project ESPERANTO took place in Turin on June 21, 2024. Since this EU project, which is dedicated to the topic of sustainable photopolymers, is being worked on as part of an MSCA (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action) with a total of 15 European partners, great importance is attached to the mobility and exchange of doctoral students. The midterm meeting in Turin, chaired by Prof. Roberta Bongiovanni and staff, provided the ideal setting for all participants (including those from the Institute of Chemistry of Polymeric Materials and PCCL) to deepen their cooperation and network successfully.
