Summer School 2026 at Infineon Technologies in Villach

Two weeks ago, Maria Nußbaumer, a new PhD student at the Institute of Polymer Chemistry, and Yining Huang, a student assistant at the institute, had the opportunity to take part in the Infineon Summer School 2026 in Villach.

The annual Summer School is aimed at Master’s students and PhD students and offers fascinating insights into the semiconductor industry. Demand was particularly high this year: 526 applicants applied, but only 30 participants were selected.

During the Summer School, participants were treated to a varied programme of lectures and practical sessions covering the entire value chain of the semiconductor industry. In addition, there was the opportunity to take part in selected seminars to exchange ideas with students and researchers from various fields.

The Summer School not only offered valuable technical insights, but also the chance to make new contacts and gain a fascinating insight into the latest developments in semiconductor technology.
