SPIRIT AWARD 2nd place for S. Schlögl and E. Rossegger

Dr. Sandra Schlögl, scientific director of the Polymer Competence Center Leoben (PCCL) and group leader at the Institute of Chemistry of Polymeric Materials at the Montanuniversität Leoben, together with Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Elisabeth Rossegger (PCCL Leoben), took second place in the category “Applied Research Senior Scientist.”

The Spirit Award is presented by Spirit of Styria magazine and recognizes outstanding scientific achievements by female researchers in Styria. The awards are presented in three categories: “Basic Research,” “Applied Research” by junior scientists, and “Applied Research” by senior scientists.

A total of around 100 Styrian scientists submitted their applications for the Spirit Award 2026, of which 25 researchers made it onto the shortlist.

The decisive factors for the selection were both the scientific quality of the research and its relevance for future applications. The decision was made by an online vote of the readers of Spirit of Styria magazine and by a jury of 20 experts from the fields of science and business.

With this award, the Spirit Award honors two scientists whose research work and commitment have an impact far beyond their field of expertise.

We warmly congratulate Sandra Schlögl and Elisabeth Rossegger on this award.
